Apo-Transferrin is the iron-free form of transferrin and is commonly used as a cell culture supplement in serum-free or low-serum media formulations. Transferrin supports iron transport and availability in culture systems, while apo-transferrin is preferred in applications where controlled or low iron conditions are desired.
This product is supplied as a non-sterile powder and must be reconstituted and sterile-filtered before use in cell culture applications.
Apo-Transferrin powder should be reconstituted using sterile cell culture-grade water or sterile PBS.
The optimal concentration may vary depending on the cell type, basal medium, and application.

Each lot has been fully tested and optimized for its ability to support in vitro cell culture. The testing parameters include: adherence rate (where applicable), typical morphology, and metabolism of the tested cells. Additionally, the media has been tested for sterility, pH, osmolality and endotoxin levels. |
| Storage Condition | Store powder at 2–8°C. After reconstitution and sterile filtration, aliquot and store at -20°C for longer-term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. |
